What's New on the 2022 Ford Expedition

There's plenty new with the 2022 Expedition. This includes a new look to the front, as well as a new taillamp design, all of which showcases its bold and imposing stance, but also as a vehicle that is inviting and appealing too. Inside, there's also updates with lots of new materials adorning the cabin. This includes a new standard 12-inch touch display or a 15.5-inch display in portrait mode. Additionally, there's a new trim level called the Ford Expedition Timberline which has adventure features like 33-inch wheels as well as best-in-class ground clearance and lots of features like Trail-Turn Assist to help you off the beaten path. Additionally, there is BlueCruise on the Expedition Platinum which is hands-free highway driving capabilities.

The 2022 Expedition Timberline is the most off-road capable Expedition ever. Built to empower your next family adventure, it's equipped with a modified suspension, best-in-class ground clearance,* a heavy-duty skid plate and advanced tech like Trail Control,™, class-exclusive Trail Turn Assist** and Zone Lighting. ** Plus, a unique interior and rugged exterior ensure it's ready to stand out wherever you decide to explore.

Remarkably Redesigned

Several new interior updates can be found throughout the 2022 Ford Expedition lineup, like the most available speakers in its class, with 22 including a subwoofer,* with the B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.® There's also new, customer-driven tech like SYNC® 4 and available SYNC® 4A. The exterior features refreshed front and rear fascias with new chrome accents. To top it off, there's the all-new, off-road capable Expedition Timberline and the head turning style of the sport-tuned Stealth Performance Edition.

Adventure-Ready Interior

There's lots of comfort on the new Ford Expedition here in Traverse City. There's seating for up to eight across three rows. This includes a standard bench second row with three seats, or two seats with captain's chairs available. Each row is easy to access as you can slide the rears seats forward and back for everyone to get onboard. You're also going to be connected. Not only do you have the choice of two large touch display options, but you can also sync up with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® and much more as you can access lots of entertainment on the go, including available Wi-Fi streaming options. As for safety, there's Ford Co-Pilot360™ available to give you lots of different options which includes automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control

Unique 18-Inch Wheels

The 32-inch all-terrain tires come with standard 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with a laser-etched Timberline logo. Exclusive Interior Colors

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline has exclusive interior trim details and colors, including ActiveX™ trimmed seats with heathered cloth insert or available leather-trimmed seats, Deep Tangerine stitching and the Timberline logo. The same stitching is also found on the door trim and on the heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Drive Hands-Free on the Highway with Ford BlueCruise

From your driveway to the highway, available Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology can help you stay confident and in command. For 2022, Ford BlueCruise will be standard on Ford Expedition Platinum. This feature will allow you to operate an Expedition Platinum hands-free on prequalified sections of divided highways, while being monitored by a driver-facing camera to make sure you're keeping your eyes on the road. *

 *Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. Ford BlueCruise is a hands-free driving feature. Only remove hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner's Manual for details and limitations. The BlueCruise Prep Kit contains the hardware required for this feature. Requires purchased 3-year connected service plan with regular map updates, FordPass App, and modem activation. BlueCruise functionality expected 3rd quarter 2021CY.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go with Lane Centering

Available on select Ford vehicles is a series of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) features employing advanced radar and camera technology. ACC lets you set a cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you. When it slows down, you automatically do too; when traffic picks back up, you resume your preset speed and distance. Then comes ACC with Stop-and-Go, which enables you to come to a complete stop when the vehicle ahead stops. * Now add Lane Centering, which scans the lane markings to help you stay in your lane if the system detects you're drifting out of it. And that's not all. Now there's Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which includes all of these features plus new Speed Sign Recognition that can automatically adjust the set speed of your vehicle to the posted speed limit.

*If the vehicle is stopped for more than three seconds, the driver must intervene and press the "RES" button or accelerator pedal to resume system operation.

Active Park Assist 2.0

Parking made easy - even in tight parallel or reverse perpendicular spots. When engaged, it can help locate a potential spot. Then all you have to do is brake to a complete stop, shift into Neutral and hold down the Active Park Assist button - your vehicle does the rest. Available Active Park Assist 2.0 also offers park out assist with side-sensing capability, so you can confidently navigate out of a parking spot when someone's parked too close to you.

Intersection Assist

It's not easy to cross a busy intersection, especially when you need to consider other vehicles around you. Intersection Assist can help. Available Intersection Assist uses the front camera and radar sensors to detect oncoming traffic while you are attempting to turn left. If there's a risk of a potential collision with an oncoming vehicle, your vehicle can alert you and apply the brakes.* This just might give you more confidence when attempting to make a left turn at an intersection.

Trail Control™

It's like cruise control for when you're off road. Available Trail Control™ is a driver-activated cruise control system that helps you navigate more easily off the road so that you can focus all your attention on the thrill of steering over the demanding terrain.*
