How the 2017 Fusion Earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus

Last year, the Ford Fusion fell just short of receiving a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It earned a good rating in four out of five crashworthiness categories (small-overlap front, moderate-overlap front, side, roof strength, and head, restraints, and seats). In small-overlap collisions, it was rated acceptable, but acceptable isn't enough for the stringent standards of the IIHS.

Ford Innovation Finds a Use for Excess CO2

By now, most of us are aware of the very real threat climate change poses to our planet, and part of Ford Motor Company helping to combat climate change is reducing its impact on the planet entirely. One of the ways to achieve that is by using excess CO2—one of the gasses contributing to climate change—to create foam and plastic components. Ford is currently testing these products and expects the biomaterials to start being used in production vehicles within five years.
