What's New on the 2026 Ford Explorer?
There's a new trim level in the 2026 Explorer lineup. The Ford Explorer Tremor joins the fray, as this off-road vehicle offers specific features that allow you to go off the beaten path. It has a lifted suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, all-terrain tires, and 18-inch wheels.
Performance
The Ford Explorer comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® turbocharged engine that delivers 300 horsepower. Those who opt for the ST will find a turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower. Both have a 10-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is available.
The new Ford Explorer also offers standout towing capacity, as you can bring your boats and watercraft to the lake, or campers and trailers, as it can reach up to 5,000 pounds of towing with the right setup and trailer package.
Interior
With three rows of seating and room for seven people onboard, the Ford Explorer remains a standout people hauler. You'll find new interior color options and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. The dashboard provides more space in the front of the vehicle, and sliding second-row seats, accessible at the touch of a button, offer easy access to the third row. You can fold down the rear seats to create plenty of room for larger luggage and shopping items, as the Explorer has always provided lots of versatility.
Advanced Technology
Modern drivers expect cutting-edge tech, and the Ford Explorer delivers. A large 13.2-inch touchscreen comes standard, serving as the command center for entertainment, navigation, and vehicle settings. The intuitive interface responds quickly to inputs and displays information clearly.
Smartphone integration is seamless with standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. This integration keeps you connected and entertained throughout every drive. Audiophiles will appreciate the available 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system upgrade.
Explore the Trim Levels
The Ford Explorer is available in several distinct trim levels, allowing you to choose the configuration that matches your preferences:
- Active
- ST-Line
- Tremor
- Platinum
- ST
Each trim level offers its own unique combination of features, styling, and capabilities. From the adventure-ready Tremor to the luxurious Platinum and the performance-focused ST, there's an Explorer that's right for your family.
