What's New on the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning?
Much of the vehicle offers holdover features, but you'll be able to find quality updates to software to ensure you get the latest experience behind the wheel.
Interior and Features
Drivers will find a comfortable cabin with ample space for drivers and passengers, plus there are features like a large front trunk (frunk) to give you space where a standard vehicle's engine would sit, which can carry up to 400 pounds.
Safety and Technology
You'll find a 12-inch touch display standard, but you can opt for a 15.5-inch display both of which give you Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ along with Wi-Fi options standard. You can also choose an option with an 18-speaker sound system.
The F-150 Lightning offers many driver assistance features with standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and along with adaptive cruise control including a hands-free driving mode via Ford BlueCruise.
Performance
There are two standard electric motors and all-wheel drive onboard each F-150 Lightning vehicle. With Standard Range options, you'll find these combine for 452 horsepower, while the Extended Range choice reaches up to 580 horsepower. You'll find peak torque of 775 pound-feet. This means you can reach up to 10,000 pounds of towing on the Extended Range option, with Standard Range choices reaching 7,700 pounds. For payload, the range is 1,800 to 2,000 pounds.
You'll get plenty of range with both options, as you can reach anywhere between 230 miles and 320 miles on a single charge. You'll find competitive charge times across all types of chargers, plus the F-150 Lightning is able to serve as a backup generator as a fully charged truck can provide up to three days of electricity for the average household in the event of an outage, Ford says.
